这个三元数字系统(底座3)是一个位置值表示法对于使用3的权力而不是10的幂。它可以用来表示整数,有理数,无理数、和复数这里我们主要讨论整数的三元表示。

例如,1729三元系为2101001。(使用基本转换模板{{从基数10|1729 | 3}}我们得到2101001。)

不时有人建议计算机应使用三元(尤其是对称三进制)而不是二进制但是,尽管这些建议是明智和深思熟虑的,但它们的机会与通过双十进制数字系统供人类使用或将世界语确立为国际语言。

可分割性

如果以3为基数表示的数字之和是偶数,则整数可以被2整除(这类似于可分性检验以10为基数的9)。例如,2101是一个偶数,因为我们验证了2+1+0+1=11(或以10为基数的4)。事实上,2101意味着64,或者; 自从,2的所有均匀诱导幂以3为基数的1结束。
