"I still remember that the first ship came ashore in the early morning of January 17. We loaded and shipped the Cherizi that came from" crossing the sea "with the fastest loading process and the shortest delivery time. Since then, the Cherizi Express that spans half the world has connected Beijing Tianjin Hebei and Chile."

On the morning of March 6, the Tianjin delegation attending the second session of the 14th National People's Congress held the second plenary meeting, which was open to the media. At the meeting, Cheng Weidong, a deputy to the National People's Congress and deputy leader of the towing team of Tianjin Port No.1 Port Co., Ltd., told us the story of "a cherry".

"Some time ago, our Tianjin Port became popular online, and netizens said that this year we achieved 'freedom of cherries'. What is the reason?" Cheng Weidong explained: "The imported cherries that we had eaten before were basically imported from Guangzhou, Shanghai and other southern ports. After entering the country, they were transported by road, and it took three to four days to reach Beijing."

Cherry is not easy to store and resistant to damage. How can people in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei taste it faster?

Cheng Weidong introduced that at the beginning of 2023, Tianjin Port Group established the Chile Tianjin Cherizi Express Line Working Group, which has successively docked with Chilean government departments, the world's top ten mainstream shipping companies, domestic foreign trade traders, and large agricultural trade wholesale merchants around the world to find out the market demand.

Finally, before the Spring Festival, 8300 tons of Chilean cherries went ashore from Tianjin Port to Beijing Tianjin Hebei.

Cheng Weidong made a calculation for everyone. The transportation time of each container of rickets was more than 30 hours shorter than usual. In terms of comprehensive logistics cost, nearly 30% of the total cost was saved. This ensured that the overall price of each car in Beijing Tianjin Hebei dropped by more than 50%.

"Everyone's eyes were as red as cherries when they stayed up that night, but our hearts were as sweet as cherries," Cheng Weidong said happily.

The opening of Chile Tianjin Chelizi direct express line has built a safer, more convenient and more efficient logistics channel for imported fruits in Beijing Tianjin Hebei and the northern region, optimized the logistics layout of imported fruits in the north, and improved the toughness, freshness and safety of the supply chain of imported fruits.

It is understood that as the "maritime gateway" of Beijing Tianjin Hebei, Tianjin Port, taking the "Chelizi Express Line" as the fulcrum, actively promotes the entry of characteristic fruits, gives play to the agglomeration effect of "port+logistics", attracts more fruit supply chain traders to settle in Tianjin, and speeds up the upgrading of cargo channels to economic corridors and channel economy to port economy.

A Cherry reflects the "logistics" of Tianjin Port.

During the question and answer session, Chen Miner, deputy to the National People's Congress and secretary of the Tianjin Municipal Party Committee, said, "Tianjin is good at deepening reform and opening up in an all-round way. This is a key move to promote Tianjin's modernization. We should continue to optimize the business environment and stimulate the endogenous power and innovation vitality of various business entities. Actively integrate into the joint construction of the "Belt and Road", further give play to the advantages of large ports, large channels and large logistics, and create an important strategic fulcrum for the northern region of China to connect domestic and international double circulation.
