According to Euronet, citing the European Union News Agency, on February 28 local time, the Swiss federal government announced that from today to March 15, large-scale gatherings with more than 1000 people will be banned, and the Geneva Auto Show scheduled to be held next week will be canceled.

The sponsor of the auto show issued a statement saying that it was regrettable for this situation, but ensuring the health of all participants was our first priority.

It is reported that the Geneva Auto Show was originally scheduled to open to the media from March 2, and will be open to the public from March 5 to March 15. Affected by the outbreak of COVID-19 virus in Europe, some car factories have previously announced their absence from relevant activities. Toyota said earlier that it would only send senior executives and public relations personnel responsible for European business to attend.

The Geneva Auto Show is the world's largest event in the auto industry. According to the information of the organizer, there were originally about 220 exhibitors attending the auto show. It is expected that more than 10000 journalists and about 660000 visitors will attend the show.

According to the Swiss official report, so far, Switzerland has seen 15 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
