Since the 18th CPC National Congress, decisive progress has been made in tackling poverty. The "Ten Thousand Enterprises Helping Ten Thousand Villages" campaign was organized, and 55400 private enterprises helped 39900 poor villages across the country, covering 7.56 million poor people. The China Social Poverty Alleviation Network has been established. Since its operation in July 2017, the number of registered people has exceeded 35 million. The Macao Special Administrative Region Government regards Congjiang County, Guizhou Province as the poverty alleviation contact point, and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government regards Nanjiang County, Sichuan Province as the poverty alleviation contact point. Mobilizing social forces to participate in poverty alleviation has achieved initial results, and the strength of charity organizations has played an effective role in poverty alleviation.

Although China has made remarkable achievements in its fight against poverty, it still faces a very arduous task to win the fight against poverty in an all-round way by 2020. From the perspective of total amount, by the end of 2017, there were 30.46 million poor people in China, with an average annual poverty reduction of more than 10 million people. In terms of structure, many of the remaining poverty-stricken people are special poverty-stricken groups such as the disabled, the elderly alone and widowed, and the chronically ill. From a regional perspective, the deep poverty areas represented by Tibet, four Tibetan regions in four provinces, four prefectures in southern Xinjiang, Liangshan Prefecture in Sichuan, Nujiang Prefecture in Yunnan, and Linxia Prefecture in Gansu have weak basic conditions, making it difficult to get rid of poverty on schedule.

Take this opportunity to propose three initiatives.

First, we hope that the Charity Fair will become a "big stage" for mobilizing social forces to participate in poverty alleviation. It is hoped that charity organizations will actively participate in the exhibition, and put limited resources into areas that need more help, so that poverty alleviation projects in deep poverty areas can find a good "husband's family", and make the exhibition an important platform for mobilizing social forces to participate in poverty alleviation.

Second, we hope that social forces will become the "fresh force" to help the deeply impoverished areas shake off poverty. It is hoped that through the charity exhibition, more social forces will be mobilized to focus on deep poverty areas, adhere to targeted poverty alleviation, promote the precise docking of charity resources and poverty alleviation projects, help the poor people improve their self-development ability, and achieve stable poverty alleviation.

Third, we hope that social organizations can play more and better "public welfare cards" in targeted poverty alleviation. It is hoped that through the exhibition and exchange of Charity Fair, more targeted poverty alleviation public welfare projects will be designed and launched to meet the actual needs of deep poverty areas and special poverty groups such as left behind women, children, the elderly, the disabled, and patients, so as to help fight poverty and explore ways to reduce poverty in China after 2020.
