When engaging in food import, several aspects must be paid attention to:
1、 The enterprise should be legal and the business should be recognized
Agents or dealers must review the qualification of foreign manufacturers to ensure their legitimacy.
According to the newly issued Regulations on the Registration and Administration of Foreign Manufacturers of Imported Food (hereinafter referred to as the Regulations), the National Certification and Accreditation Administration (i.e. the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People's Republic of China) uniformly manages the registration, supervision and administration of foreign manufacturers of imported food, and is responsible for formulating and promulgating the Catalogue of Imported Food Implemented Enterprise Registration (hereinafter referred to as the Catalogue).
When foreign manufacturing enterprises export the food listed in the Catalogue to China, in addition to applying to the CNCA, the veterinary service system, plant protection system and public health management system of the country (region) where the enterprise is located must also be evaluated and qualified by the CNCA.
2、 The consignee of imported food shall prepare relevant materials
Including the quality certificate, certificate of origin, safety and health certificate, pesticide and fumigant, additive use certificate and other documents of the goods. When declaring the entry of goods, the consignee of imported food must provide these documents with other shipping documents and commercial documents to the inspection and quarantine organ. When importing prepackaged food, Chinese labels shall be printed in advance, and their contents shall comply with the General Standards for Food Labels（ GB7718-94 ）Provisions.
3、 Declaration after arrival of imported food
After the imported food enters the port, the importer or agent shall declare to the port inspection and quarantine authority, and provide relevant shipping documents, commercial documents, health data, etc. After the above materials have passed the examination, in order to clear the port as soon as possible, the supervision personnel will issue a "Hygienic Inspection Release Notice", and the owner of the goods will declare and pick up the goods against this notice. After customs clearance, the goods shall be stored in the warehouse approved by the port inspection and quarantine institution. The supervisors will conduct on-site health inspection and health supervision on the goods, and take some samples at random. The supervisors shall determine the inspection items and send the samples to the laboratory for inspection according to China's food hygiene standards and requirements, with reference to the food hygiene conditions of the exporting country (region), the conditions of the goods in transportation and storage, and the on-site supervision. During this period, the goods shall be sealed and not used or sold. If it passes the inspection, the inspection and quarantine institution will issue a health certificate, and this batch of food can be used or sold; If the goods fail to pass the inspection, according to the relevant national regulations, the goods will be destroyed, returned, used for other purposes or re processed for consumption according to different circumstances.
