Zhang Bing, Deputy Director of the Anti smuggling Bureau of Gongbei Customs, introduced at the press conference that the "3.25" extraordinary solid waste smuggling case was an important result of the "Blue Sky 2018" special action of the national customs, the largest slag solid waste smuggling case seized in China at present, and also the largest amount of solid waste smuggling case.

It is reported that on February 11, a trading company in Shanghai declared the import of 261500 tons of "ball crushing ore" to Gaolan Customs under Gongbei Customs. The Anti smuggling Bureau of Gongbei Customs put the case on file on March 25 and verified that the company was suspected of smuggling 313000 tons of solid waste prohibited by the state. Through unremitting efforts, the customs anti smuggling police have detained all 116000 tons of solid waste piled up in Zhuhai and other ports. At present, two people have been arrested and six people have been released on bail pending trial, of which the principal criminal, Mr. Huang, has been approved by the procuratorial organ for execution. Gongbei Customs intends to transfer this case to Zhuhai People's Procuratorate for prosecution as a suspected waste smuggling crime in the near future.
