"The Sacrifice" continues to lead China's daily box office

BEIJING, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- War film "The Sacrifice" continued to lead the Chinese mainland's daily box office chart on Thursday, generating about 7.61 million yuan (1.16 million U.S. dollars).

That brought the film's total box office revenue since its Oct. 23 release to over 1 billion yuan, figures compiled by the China Movie Data Information Network showed.

Set during the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea (1950-1953), the film was co-directed by Guan Hu, also the director of this year's blockbuster war epic "The Eight Hundred."

Inspirational film "Find Your Voice" ranked second, grossing about 2.93 million yuan on Thursday. It revolves around a famous international choir conductor leading a group of students to learn chorus from scratch, during which they face the setbacks and challenges of life together, and finally find themselves in music.

Coming in third was "My People, My Homeland," earning about 2.86 million yuan. The comedy depicting China's achievements in the fight against poverty saw its total box office revenue exceed 2.8 billion yuan since its Oct. 1 debut.
