The development of coalbed methane has made Fuxin one of the few cities with stable gas sources in Liaoning Province. Last year, a large number of heating boilers in northern China changed from coal to gas. For a time, natural gas supply was in short supply, resulting in "gas shortage". From November 2017 to March 2018, Fuxin coal-bed gas enterprises changed the original gas supply for taxis to residential gas, and increased extraction efforts. The cumulative domestic gas supply was 5.54 million cubic meters within five months, ensuring that residents can stay warm in winter.
