I think we should start with the axis.
For mechanical keyboard enthusiasts, Cherry's original MX mechanical shaft is the most reliable and also the place of belief. However, Cherry has many original shaft bodies, at least dozens of them. For novice players, how to choose? Don't panic. Although there are many shafts, there are four shafts, which are the basis of dozens of shafts. They are red shaft, green shaft, tea shaft and black shaft.
The biggest difference between them is mainly the structure, which leads to their differences in sound, pressure and feel.
Red switch of red axis: linear axis body, trigger key travel 2.0mm, initial pressure 30cN, trigger pressure 45 ± 15cN. The reason why the red axis is a linear axis is that it has no sense of paragraph when pressing, and it is straight down and up. At the same time, the trigger pressure is low, which makes it require less force when pressing, and it is suitable for long-term coders or keyboard operators.
Although the sound of the red axis itself is not too loud, Cherry has launched a special silent version for it. If you are not so obsessed with the "Da Da" sound of the mechanical keyboard, the red axis is a more balanced choice.
Black switch of black shaft: linear shaft body, trigger key travel 2.0mm, initial pressure 30cN, trigger pressure 60 ± 20cN. It can be seen that the black axis, like the red axis, is a linear axis, but the trigger pressure is high, which is suitable for people who prefer heavy keyboard feel and need to press vigorously. However, for most people, long-term use may cause finger fatigue.
It is estimated that the black shaft is the one with the least number of users among the four shafts. The main reason is that long-term use is easy to cause fatigue, which makes many people think it is difficult to use. From my personal experience, the black shaft is not so bad. If you get used to its feel, you will feel that every word you knock is "sonorous and powerful" (laugh).
Blue Switch: section shaft body, trigger key travel 2.2mm, initial pressure 25cN, trigger pressure 50 ± 15cN, section pressure 60 ± 15cN, section travel 1.75mm. Although the trigger key travel is longer, the initial pressure is even smaller than the red axis, so it is easier to knock. However, considering that the blue axis has a sense of paragraph when pressed, it will make a "tick" sound, which is similar to the ball pen pressing the switch, so the sound will be loud.
The Green Axis is a friendship judge. If it is used in the office or dormitory, the loud voice will easily affect colleagues or classmates. Please use it carefully. If the environment allows, the green axis is the most rhythmic of the mechanical keyboard.
Brown Switch of tea shaft: section shaft body, trigger key travel 2.0mm, initial pressure 30cN, trigger pressure 45 ± 20cN, section pressure 55 ± 25cN, section travel 1.25mm. The tea shaft is the shaft closest to the membrane keyboard, because it has sections but is not obvious, and the trigger pressure is also light. If it is just transitioning from the membrane keyboard, the tea shaft is more suitable. At the same time, the indistinct sense of paragraphs also makes the sound generated when pressing smaller than the green axis.
There are many fans of the tea scroll, mainly because it takes into account the sense of paragraphs of the green scroll and the quietness of the red scroll. Of course, the characteristics of the tea scroll are not so obvious, or the feature is the golden mean.
These four axle bodies are the most common axle bodies in our daily life, and also the axle bodies with large shipment volume. Considering the tail of the mechanical keyboard pit, we can start from these four axle bodies, while advanced friends can consider some special axle bodies, such as the silver axle which I prefer to trigger very quickly.
