People's Daily Online, Beijing, September 20 (Xinhua) After the special museums such as the Ceramic Museum, the Painting and Calligraphy Museum, the Palace Museum opened another special exhibition hall furniture hall to the public yesterday. The exhibition hall of the first phase of the opened furniture museum is located in the Nandaku area at the southwest corner of the Forbidden City. 402 pieces of Qing Dynasty furniture are displayed in the "Nandaku Qing Dynasty Palace Furniture Exhibition".

According to reports, the Palace Museum now has more than 6200 pieces of Ming and Qing furniture, the largest number in the world. Previously, these precious furniture relics had been hidden in the Shengong Warehouse. In 2015, in order to further expand the exhibition area and increase the number of cultural relics to be displayed, the Palace Museum determined the Nandaku in the southwest corner of the Forbidden City as a special exhibition site for palace furniture, and rectified the nearly deserted Nandaku area at that time. After three years of construction, today's Nanda Warehouse has become a modern professional cultural relics exhibition hall and warehouse.

According to the exhibition plan, the furniture museum is divided into three exhibition halls. The first and second phases are located in the Nandaku area, and the third phase is located in the Nanxundian area. More than 2000 pieces of Ming and Qing furniture will be collected, which is both a warehouse and an exhibition hall. The second phase of the furniture hall will be all warehouse style displays, and the third phase will mainly display Ming Dynasty furniture. In the future, more furniture treasures may be presented to the audience in the form of rotation. After all the exhibition arrangements are completed, the exhibition hall of Phase III will be connected and form a new exhibition area together with Wuying Hall and Baoyun Building.

The reporter learned that the first phase of Nandaku area - "Nandaku Qing Dynasty Palace Furniture Exhibition" is divided into two parts. The first one is the theme exhibition, with the main content of "State and Family in the Palace Furniture of the Qing Dynasty", showing the palace furniture related to the court etiquette and imperial life. The second is the warehousing exhibition, where hundreds of furniture cultural relics are displayed and arranged according to the warehouse storage requirements. This is the first time that this form of furniture cultural relics is displayed in China.

Shan Jixiang, the president of the Palace Museum, said that many of the furniture relics in the Palace Museum were collected in the ground storerooms, with crowded space and poor preservation conditions. Moreover, because many halls in the courtyard are displayed in their original state, and the form and content of the displayed furniture are relatively fixed, it is difficult to see the day for a large number of Ming and Qing furniture that are not on the exhibition line. The "warehousing" exhibition is an effective way to relieve the pressure of inventory and give more opportunities for the appearance of the stored cultural relics.

"The painting of the Qing Dynasty Hongli is one is two pictures" The original scene of the interior space reappears.

In addition, in the first phase of the exhibition hall opened this time, in addition to the warehousing display of more than 300 pieces of Qing Dynasty furniture, there are more than 30 pieces of high-quality furniture, mainly the furniture of the Kangxi, Yongzheng and Qianlong periods. The scene design is based on the theme of courtyard, study, piano room, etc., combined with multimedia technology and lighting, to form different cultural spaces for the audience to enjoy closely and wander in. It is worth mentioning that the interior space of Emperor Qianlong in the Painting of the People of the Qing Dynasty is "one is two pictures". The scene in the painting is restored according to the furnishings, so that the audience can feel the unique appearance and interior layout of the palace furniture, and get more profound cultural experience by combining it with calligraphy and painting.
