On November 17, the premiere ceremony and painting exhibition of the patriotic educational film "Sunrise on the Cloud" in Nanjing were held in the Memorial Hall of the Victims of the Nanjing Massacre of the Japanese Invaders.

On November 4, 1941, the Japanese army launched a bacteriological war in Changde, Hunan, which killed 7643 innocent people. With this as the background, Sunrise on the Cloud tells the story of the companionship, growth and redemption of children in a children's correctional institution under the bacteriological warfare based on real characters. On the same day, Xia Jiajun, the original member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and the former member of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee, also came to the scene. Speaking of that year, he tried to recall every detail with silver hair. "When the smoke filled the air, I was alone facing the vast land, and I didn't know where to go. It was the reception of the correctional institution that made me find my home again." He said that the encouragement and companionship between his peers was the most precious sunrise dawn in the days when the smoke filled the air and the clouds covered the sun, which was also the "Sunrise on Clouds" The subject of. The film does not make any positive presentation of the war scenes, but focuses on the group feelings and experiences of children in the environment of that era, and reflects and accuses the war by telling them about the cruelty of the war and the warmth of the world.

At the premiere ceremony, the film director Xiong Wei said that after hearing Mr. Xia Jiajun's growth story, he had the idea of making a film. He hoped that this story could encourage a new generation of young people to persevere in the face of growing challenges, "The history of bacteriological warfare should never be forgotten. We should let more people know about it, remember it, remember the lost lives and call for peace through movies."

The scene also showed 12 oil paintings themed "Sunrise on Cloud" created by Nanjing young artist Xiao Tingyu according to the film plot, and dozens of paintings created by primary school students to express the dream of peace.
