On May 3, Beijing time, according to the San Antonio News Express, Spurs coach Greg Popovich said in an interview recently that they will try their best to keep forward Rudy Gay this summer. In July this year, Guy, now 32 years old, will officially resume his freedom and join the free agent market.
"We are looking forward to finally coming up with a plan to keep him (Guy)," said Bobo, "Rudy is a scorer and a player who can change the game. More importantly, his sense of smell of rebounds and defense are also growing. These were obviously not his specialties before, but he has been able to understand the importance of these jobs and has made progress every season."
In this season's regular season, Gay can contribute 13.7 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists to the Spurs, including 50.4% shooting percentage and 40.2% outside shooting percentage, both of which hit career highs. Although he suffered a torn Achilles tendon two years ago, which is regarded as the greatest enemy of basketball players by the outside world, he has proved to the world with efficient performance in the past two seasons that he has not been defeated by injuries.

"He is a very outgoing person and a team mate who is easy to get along with, so he can make everyone feel comfortable with him," continued Bobo, "Especially for young people like Lonnie (Walker), it is very important for him to sit down and eat and laugh with the veterans of the team. Guy is obviously doing very well in this regard."
