August B-class car: Maiteng returns to the top, Camry and Accord follow strongly

After the accidental loss of the championship in July, Maiteng returned to the top in August. The cumulative sales advantage is obvious, and the hope of winning the championship throughout the year is great. Camry and Accord have experienced a new generation since last year's Guangzhou Auto Show. The effect of new products is obvious month by month, and they continue to keep pace with Maiteng with a single month performance of about 15000 vehicles.

Passat, which is about to usher in "transformation" this year, has a large fluctuation in sales, with a monthly average of 12000 vehicles being a normal performance; Among the top three Japanese brands, Teana's performance is tepid, with an average monthly sales of nearly 10000 vehicles. It is said that 2019 will usher in a new generation; As for Mingtu and Mondeo, which have not performed well since this year, the former has slightly improved, while the latter is still in a depressed state, which is hard to reverse throughout the year.

The performance of joint venture B-class cars in August was remarkable. According to the data released by the China Automobile Association, China's automobile production in August was 2 million, down 4.4% year on year and 2.1% month on month; 2.103 million vehicles were sold, down 3.8% year on year and up 11.3% month on month. From January to August, the cumulative production and sales of automobiles in China increased by 2.8% and 3.5% respectively over the same period of the previous year, and the automobile market as a whole entered a cold period. In contrast, the performance of the joint venture B-class vehicle market is obviously active.

Passat unexpectedly beat Maiteng to win the sales championship in July, but according to the reporter of Economic Daily China Economic Network, it is mainly because the time node for model renewal is approaching and the channel is increasing inventory to ensure a smooth transition in the later period. The new Passat is expected to be launched in the fourth quarter of this year. The new car is built on the MQB platform, and its comprehensive strength is expected to continue to improve.

Cui Dongshu, Secretary General of the Passenger Car Association, said in an interview that "the new car effect" is very effective for the Chinese market. Chinese consumers are still in the irrational stage of "liking the new and hating the old", especially sensitive to means such as increasing allocation and lowering prices. In addition, the middle class car market is currently very competitive, with a wide range of choices, and the attention of new car replacement is also high.

In contrast, Tianlai, which is at the end of its life cycle, is also old and strong. From January to August this year, it sold 74566 vehicles in total, with an average monthly sales of nearly 10000 vehicles, showing a stable performance. At the same time, the performance of Teana can often "jam" the competing products of the American brand, and become the watershed of the "ten thousand car club".

   Mingtu Continues to Be Downbeat Mondeo "Stand at the End of the Team"

Among the American and Korean brands of the joint venture B-class cars, Regal, Mingtu and Mairuibao have always been attacking and defending each other. Although Mazda Atez, the "dark horse", rose last year, on the whole, ranking and influence have basically formed: Regal is at war, with sales of more than 9000 cars in August, which has the strength to impact the "ten thousand car club"; The price preference of Mairuibao is strong, and the main price performance ratio; Mingtu's performance has fluctuated this year, and its performance has been sluggish in the past two months.

From January to August this year, Beijing Hyundai Mingtu sold 79255 vehicles in total, a year-on-year decline of more than 30%. Although the performance improved in the first half of the year, the sales in July and August fell significantly, 2045 and 5432 vehicles respectively. It is understood that in order to achieve "reversal" in the first half of the year, the terminal inventory of Beijing Hyundai rose significantly, and entered the channel adjustment period in July and August, with a reasonable decline.

It is worth mentioning that the sales of the upgraded FAW Volkswagen CC are climbing month by month. With the appearance design similar to Audi A7 and comprehensive configuration improvement, the new CC is finding its rhythm and is expected to hit the monthly average of 3000 vehicles.

Chang'an Ford Mondeo, the "bottom" in a row, still hasn't improved. In August, only 1584 vehicles were sold, which once again confirmed the current tragic situation of Chang'an Ford. At present, the industry pays a lot of attention to it. Can new cars be launched continuously? Can the change and integration at the top of the team achieve results? All kinds of questions remain to be seen.
