People's Daily Online, Beijing, September 21 (Wang Zi) The reporter learned from the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration that yesterday, BMW (China) Automobile Trade Co., Ltd. and Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. issued a recall notice, and decided to recall 939 imported BMW X5 diesel cars, 6912 imported MINI Cooper cars, and 214 Lexus LC cars respectively.

Specifically, BMW decided to recall 939 imported BMW X5 diesel cars produced from July 19, 2013 to June 5, 2015 from October 29, 2018.

The reason for recall is that the vehicle is equipped with a diesel engine exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system, and its EGR cooler may produce combustible jelly due to internal leakage. If a large amount of glue accumulates for a long time, it may be ignited under long-term and high load conditions of the engine, causing ablation or fire of the intake pipe components, which may pose a potential safety hazard.

In this regard, BMW (China) Automobile Trading Co., Ltd. will replace the improved EGR cooler for the vehicles within the recall range free of charge, and clean the air inlet pipeline to eliminate potential safety hazards.

In addition, BMW will recall a total of 6912 imported MINI Cooper cars produced from January 6, 2017 to June 21, 2018 from October 15, 2018.

The reason for the recall is that the vehicle was not installed with the engine high-pressure fuel pump support guard due to factory assembly errors. If the support guard plate of the high-pressure fuel pump is missing, the high-pressure fuel pump may be damaged and leak fuel in a serious collision accident at the front of the vehicle, which increases the risk of vehicle fire and has potential safety hazards.

In this regard, BMW (China) Automobile Trading Co., Ltd. will install high-pressure fuel pump support shield for vehicles within the recall scope for free to eliminate potential safety hazards. Stock vehicles will be sold after defects are eliminated.

For Toyota, due to the incomplete control program of the hybrid system control computer in some vehicles, the control computer may not be able to issue speed change instructions within the specified time when the vehicle is running at a high speed, if a specific operation is carried out (the accelerator pedal is pressed to the bottom quickly from a light state), so the control computer may judge that it is abnormal, causing the warning lamp to light up, The hybrid power system stops working, the vehicle power is interrupted and cannot drive normally, which has potential safety hazards.

Therefore, Toyota will recall some imported Lexus LC vehicles produced from December 13, 2017 to August 10, 2018 from now on, involving 214 vehicles in mainland China. The hybrid control computer program will be upgraded for vehicles within the recall scope for free to eliminate potential safety hazards. The inventory vehicles will be sold after the hidden dangers are eliminated.
