The hydropower station is located in the middle reach of the C River at the junction of A County and B County in the west of A Province, 1.5km downstream of the junction of the main stream reach and the tributary Heihui River, which is the second stage of the eight planned stages of the middle and lower reaches of the C River. The hydropower station project is a large (1) first class project, and the main permanent hydraulic structures are first class buildings. The project focuses on power generation and has comprehensive utilization benefits such as flood control, irrigation, sediment detention and navigation. The reservoir has an incomplete multi-year regulation capacity and is the "leading reservoir" in the middle and lower reaches of the C River. The project is composed of concrete double curvature arch dam (dam height 292m), water cushion pool behind the dam, secondary dam, spillway tunnel on the left bank and underground water diversion and power generation system on the right bank. After the completion of the dam, a reservoir of 149.14 × 108m3 will be formed, with an installed capacity of 4200MW (6 × 700MW). The diversion and power generation system is composed of three caverns, six diversion penstocks, six bus tunnels, two tailrace tunnels, as well as access tunnels, transportation tunnels, outlet tunnels and ventilation tunnels, forming a huge underground cavern group. The main and auxiliary power houses are 82.0m high, 30.6m wide and 298.1m long; The main transformer room is 22.0m high, 19.0m wide and 230.6m long; The double cylinder impedance surge chamber is 90.0m high, 32.0m in diameter, 38m in maximum excavation diameter, and 99.504m between the axes of the two surge shafts; The length of the two tailrace tunnels is 945.4m and 717.4m respectively, and the tunnel diameter is 18m
