Under the programming environment of Matlab, this paper analyzes the current methods of transformer simulation. In the case of single-phase, the phenomenon of saturated and unsaturated inrush current and the characteristics of single-phase inrush current are analyzed. In the three-phase case, based on the piecewise fitting and curve compression method, the mathematical simulation models of three-phase transformers under the four most commonly used connection modes Yd11, Ynd11, Yny0 and Yy0 are established by using two modified arctangent functions and two modified arctangent functions plus two straight lines to simulate saturation, and are simulated in Matlab. By analyzing the waveform of three-phase inrush current and hysteresis loop, and the characteristics of three-phase inrush current, the main factors affecting the inrush current of three-phase transformer are summarized.
