S136 characteristics:
S-136 is stainless tool steel, which has the following characteristics:
1. Excellent corrosion resistance
2. Excellent polishing property
3. Excellent wear resistance
4. Excellent machinability
5. Excellent stability during quenching
Combining the advantages listed above, this steel has excellent production characteristics. Because of its excellent corrosion resistance, the benefits of using it in plastic molds are summarized as follows:
1. Lower maintenance cost: after long-term use of the mold, the surface of the mold cavity remains in the original smooth state.
When the mold is operated or stored in a humid environment, no special protection is required.
2. Lower production cost: Since the cooling channel of the mold is not affected by corrosion (unlike ordinary mold steel), the heat conduction characteristics and cooling efficiency remain stable during the life of the mold, ensuring the permanent forming time of the mold. The above benefits, combined with the high wear resistance of S-136, provide low maintenance costs and long life molds, and achieve economic benefits. At the same time, S-136 is refined by "electroslag remelting (ESR)", and has pure and fine structure.
S136 Purpose:
The mirror mold and high acid resistance can ensure that the cooling pipe is not corroded, and it is suitable for PVC, PP, EP, PC, PMMA plastics and food industry machinery components
S-136 is recommended for all molds. Because of its special nature, it is more suitable for the needs of special environments.
1. Corrosion and rust resistance; For molds that use corrosive PVC, acetate and other injection molding materials or must be operated and stored in a humid environment.
2. Wear resistance; When using injection molding materials with high abrasion (including thermosetting injection molding molds) or requiring molds to have a long working time, such as electronic parts, discarded dinner knives, utensils, etc.
3. High smoothness surface; Production of optical products, such as cameras, sunglasses, chemical instruments and plastic products.
Corrosion resistance
S-136 can resist water, steam, weak organic acid, diluted nitrate, carbonate, etc. Molds made via S-136. If you operate in a humid environment or use corrosive plastic materials under normal conditions, they will not rust or be contaminated. S-136 shows excellent corrosion resistance when tempered at low temperature and polished to mirror state.
