The AV80 casing is large in volume and weight, and the sand box, pressing iron and pouring trough required in the pouring process are all special tools. For this reason, Shaanxi Diesel Heavy Industry, while borrowing tooling, also designed and welded 2 pieces of 4m long pouring grooves, 1 piece of molding ring box, 16 pairs of lock box ears, 8 pieces of special bolts for large lock boxes and other tooling, effectively ensuring product quality.
As the AV80 casing structure and production process are quite different from the products previously cast by Shaanchai Heavy Industry, during its production process, the company's technicians drew lines in strict accordance with the drawing requirements when positioning the sand core, meeting the casting size requirements. When formulating the production process, the company adopted the "double safety" scheme of using both the pressing iron and the lock box bolt to eliminate the scrap of castings; The difficult pouring problem was successfully solved by using self-made pouring trough to draw out molten iron. In addition, the company also uses recycled materials to melt molten iron for production, which greatly reduces the production cost. The smooth pouring of this large casing has accumulated experience for Shaanxi Diesel Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. to produce heavy castings in the future, and laid a solid foundation for the company to expand new markets and enter the super large casting market.
