Xia Luqi, also known as Bangjie, was once named Li Shaoqi, a native of Qingzhou, a famous general of the Later Tang Dynasty during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms Period. Xia Luqi was originally a military academy in Houliang, and became the commander of Zhuang Zong's guard after he was attached to the Later Tang Dynasty. He is famous for his bravery. He once killed more than 100 people alone when guarding Zhuang Zong. He was awarded the name of Cizhou Governor because of his merit. After the establishment of the Later Tang Dynasty, Wang Yanzhang was captured alive and promoted to the post of Zhengzhou Defensive Envoy with Zhuang Zong's attack on Houliang. During the reign of Emperor Mingzong, Xia Luqi successively served as the envoy of Heyang, the envoy of Zhongwu Army, and the envoy of Wuxin Army, in order to make the prime minister out of Zhensuizhou
