Indirect laryngoscopy, direct laryngoscopy and electronic laryngoscopy can be used to check the throat. Indirect laryngoscopy generally requires the patient's cooperation. When the patient takes a sitting position, the doctor pulls up his tongue and uses the indirect laryngoscope to let the patient make a sound. When the epiglottis is lifted, the epiglottis, laryngeal surface, aryepiglottic fold, spoon area, ventricular band, vocal cord and its movement can be seen. Direct laryngoscopy is a hard mirror inserted into the larynx to expose the glottis and examine the lesions in the pyriform fossa and glottis. At present, the commonly used examination is electronic laryngoscope, which is also a soft mirror examination. It can be performed through a nasal or oral approach, and can detect structures such as the arytenoid area, epiglottis, vocal cords, ventricular cords, and laryngeal chambers.
