The perianal skin of infants and neonates is delicate, and the frequent defecation will cause damage to the perianal skin or mucous membrane, or carelessness when wiping with hard paper will cause local skin damage, cause the spread of infection and inflammation, and gradually spread along the perianal recess to form perianal abscess under the skin. In adults, chronic perianal abscess is formed because perianal abscess is not fully cured when they are young. Generally, there is only residual cavity without pus. In some cases, abscess is caused by improper eating, spicy food or perianal infection. Some children can be cured through conservative treatment. Some children need to cut and drain the abscess, while adults with symptoms generally need surgical treatment.
