The first consideration for pain treatment of bone metastases is the treatment of primary diseases, namely, surgical treatment, radiotherapy and chemotherapy, hormone treatment, traditional Chinese medicine treatment, immunotherapy, endocrine treatment, radionuclide treatment, etc. If there are local symptoms, radiotherapy for pain relief and zoledronic acid for inhibiting bone destruction can be considered. In patients with bone metastases, the tumor focus invades the nerve, causing serious nerve compression and edema, which may lead to paralysis. It is better to add dehydrating agents such as mannitol and glycerol fructose to the pain killer treatment, and some patients can also add hormone synergistic treatment to increase the efficacy. Interventional or surgical treatment can be considered for patients with serious bone destruction to reduce the possibility of paralysis caused by pathological fracture. The treatment of bone metastasis in advanced cancer is aimed at reducing pain, improving life quality and prolonging life span. The purpose, significance, possible adverse reactions and accidents of each treatment should be comprehensively formulated according to the wishes of patients and their families. Cancer pain caused by bone metastases may be completely relieved, but because of the cancer itself, the existing means can not be completely cured.
