When patients with pancreatic cancer are accompanied by ascites, the first thing to consider is whether ascites is caused by abdominal metastasis of pancreatic cancer cells. At this time, pay attention to the patient's serum albumin level. If the patient's albumin is normal, the ascites can be fully drained, and the drained ascites should be sent for pathological examination. When it is confirmed that there are cancer cells in the ascites, intraperitoneal infusion chemotherapy is needed, and when necessary, combined with systemic chemotherapy is needed to control malignant ascites. If the serum albumin level of a patient with pancreatic cancer is significantly lower than normal when ascites appear, albumin supplementation should be given actively. When the albumin level returns to normal, the ascites will also be improved.
