If it is caused by tuberculosis, it is recommended to take anti tuberculosis drugs; if it is caused by heart failure, it is recommended to take anti heart failure treatment; if it is caused by tumor, it is recommended to take anti tumor treatment. Tuberculous pleurisy is the most common type of pleurisy caused by bacterial infection. Common diseases causing pleurisy include: pneumonia, pulmonary infarction caused by pulmonary embolism, cancer, tuberculosis, rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, parasitic infection, pancreatitis, injury, and stimulation of the airway or other parts reaching the pleura. Antituberculous drugs are suitable for the treatment of tuberculous pleurisy. The principle of antituberculosis treatment is early treatment, and drugs should be used in sufficient quantity and for a long time. The drugs commonly used are isoniazid, rifampicin, ethambutol and streptomycin, which can be used alternatively. Non tuberculous pleurisy should be targeted at the primary disease such as infection, tumor, etc., and appropriate drug treatment should be selected. Pyogenic pleurisy or tuberculous empyema with infection shall be treated with penicillin.
