Ciqikou is a historical and cultural block located in Nancheng District, Beijing, China. It is famous for selling ceramic utensils. There are two explanations for the origin of the name of the magnetic mouth.
One is that Ciqikou got its name from an official named Zhang Ci in the Jingtai period of the Ming Dynasty. He opened a ceramics shop here, so the area is called Ciqikou.
Another saying is that Ciqikou got its name from an official named Chen Ci in the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty. He opened a ceramics shop here, so the area is called Ciqikou.
Either way, it is closely related to the ceramic culture of the region. Ciqikou was one of the largest ceramic ware distribution centers in Beijing during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and became an accessory market of imperial kilns in the Qing Dynasty. Therefore, Ciqikou has an important position and influence in the history of Chinese ceramics.
