After we use SolidWorks to draw the assembly body, we may need to draw an explosion diagram in order to better express the assembly relationship. Some beginners who use SolidWorks may not know how to draw 3D exploded views in the software. Here is an introduction.
Operation method
First, we will open the drawn 3D assembly to be exploded. For the convenience of illustration, it is just a simple assembly, but the method used can draw inferences from one instance.
In the assembly tab, select the "Explosion View" option to open the "Explosion" dialog box as shown in Figure 2.
Then, click the middle cylinder with the mouse, and the cylinder highlights. You can see the three coordinate axes xyz. Click the axis in which direction you want to explode. Here we explode upward and select the Y axis.
At this time, in the "Explosion" dialog box, you can set the explosion distance, which is set to 10mm here first.
After clicking "Apply", we found that although the Y axis exploded, the direction was just opposite. At this time, click the button I box selected in Figure 2 to change the direction.
Then, we can adjust the distance of the explosion to 50mm, and then click Finish to exit the Explosion dialog box. The exploded view is complete.
Then someone will ask, what if I don't want to explode? At this time, click the "Configuration" tab, and then cancel the explosion as shown in the figure. The advantage is that the exploded view is a configuration that can be canceled and restored at any time, which is very convenient.
