Cerebral infarction belongs to the category of stroke in traditional Chinese medicine. TCM treatment of cerebral infarction requires syndrome differentiation and treatment, including the following aspects. First, wind phlegm and blood stasis, blocking the venation: apply Huatan Tongluo Decoction, promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis, and remove phlegm and dredge collaterals. Second, hyperactivity of liver yang, wind and fire disturbance: use Tianma Gouteng Decoction to calm the liver, purge fire and dredge collaterals. Third, phlegm is hot and the fu organs are solid, and wind phlegm is disturbing: use Xinglou Chengqi Decoction to remove phlegm and dredge the fu organs. Fourth, qi deficiency and blood stasis: use Buyang Huanwu Decoction to replenish qi and activate blood circulation, and to strengthen the body and eliminate pathogenic factors. Fifth, Yin deficiency and wind movement: nourish the liver and kidney with liver calming and wind calming decoction, and treat it with yang suppressing and wind calming decoction. Sixth, phlegm heat is used to close the orifices and clear the orifices: Lingyangjiao Decoction is used in combination with oral administration or nasal feeding of Angong Niuhuang Pill to clear away heat and phlegm, and awaken the mind and open the orifices.
