The clinical manifestations of yang deficiency of spleen and kidney are white complexion, cold shape and cold limbs, cold pain in the waist and knees or lower abdomen, persistent diarrhea, or diarrhea in the fifth hour, no melting of grains, cold stool, floating face and swollen body, or unfavorable urination, even abdominal distension like a drum, or thin fat tongue, white and slippery tongue coating, and weak pulse. Spleen and kidney yang deficiency syndrome refers to the deficiency cold syndrome characterized by deficiency of spleen and kidney yang qi, warming and losing power, and diarrhea or edema. This syndrome is mainly caused by the chronic disease of the spleen and kidney, which consumes qi to injure yang, or chronic diarrhea, or chronic water evils, so that the deficiency of the kidney yang can not warm and nourish the spleen yang, or the deficiency of the spleen yang can not fully nourish the kidney yang, and eventually both the spleen and kidney yang and qi are injured. The evidence of the syndrome is diarrhea, edema, cold pain in the waist and abdomen, and the appearance of deficiency and cold.
