Jaw joint pain, also known as temporomandibular joint disorder syndrome, is the most common disease in oral and maxillofacial regions. The pathogenesis has not yet been fully understood. The main clinical manifestations of this disease are joint pain, joint bounce during movement, and mandibular movement disorders. Temporomandibular joint pain is clinically manifested as local swelling or pain of the joint, joint bounce and mandibular movement disorder. The pain can be located in the joint area or around the joint with tenderness, joint pain and pain of varying degrees. Temporomandibular joint pain, generally can not recover by itself, mild can be treated by physical therapy and hot compress and oral anti-inflammatory and analgesic drugs, such as Voltarin. If the treatment is not improved, the joint cavity should be partially sealed to relieve symptoms and eliminate inflammation.
