Now is the planting period of early spring corn. In the thousands of acres of high standard farmland in Shuangling Village at the foot of Zhonglun Mountain, a low mechanical roar played the prelude to spring plowing. Small agricultural machines show their skills in the fields and complete mechanized plowing operations after several rounds. Farmers, wearing hats and rubber shoes, shuttle back and forth in rows and ridges, busy transplanting corn seedlings, adjusting plant spacing and watering.
In June last year, the construction of a thousand mu of high standard farmland in Shuangling Village was started. According to Ye Zhenxing, the project leader, at present, the project has transferred more than 400 mu of land. After land leveling and soil improvement in the early stage, 150-180 mu will be used to plant sweet corn this spring. It is expected that the harvest will begin in the middle of May, and the yield per mu will reach 1200 kg.
Ye Zhenxing was pleased to say that although all the corn seedlings had not been planted yet, he had received purchase orders, and "order based" planting did not worry about sales. At present, the project has hired five agricultural technology experts from Taiwan to carry out technical guidance, and will open test fields for new varieties breeding and testing in the future.
The vernal equinox is the busy season of spring ploughing and farming, as well as the best time to go hiking and enjoy flowers. Guyue Villa, also located in Shuangling Village, has 280 mu of rape flowers in full bloom. The gentle wind blows, the rape flowers are swaying at random, and the sea of flowers is full of waves. Being among them, you can see the golden color, which attracts many tourists to enjoy flowers and "punch cards".
It is understood that the rape flowers planted at present are divided into high plant and low plant. The high plant varieties have entered the final stage of blooming, and the ornamental period of low plant varieties will continue to the middle of April.
