On December 22, 2023, the "Second General Election Conference and 2023 National Preventive Medicine Academic Annual Conference" of the Branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine Preventive Medicine of the Chinese National Health Association was successfully held in Beijing. More than 200 participants from all over the country attended the conference.

The conference first heard the First Work Report of the Branch of Preventive Medicine of Traditional Chinese Medicine, written by Li Guiying, President of the Branch of Preventive Medicine of Traditional Chinese Medicine. President Li elaborated on the main work and achievements of the Branch of Preventive Medicine of Traditional Chinese Medicine, from its original intention to epidemic prevention and control, from holding a summit to formulating standards, from talent training to blue book compilation, from public welfare activities to health science popularization, and put forward ardent expectations for the leadership of the second branch to be elected soon.

According to the general election agenda, the General Assembly read out the Reply on the General Election of the Branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Preventive Medicine in turn, reviewed the Methods for the General Election of the Branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Preventive Medicine, and voted on the directors, scrutineers, and vote counters.
The General Assembly reviewed the list of candidates for the second session of the Committee. The standing members of the first session of the second session of the Committee were elected by ballot. The second chairman, honorary chairman, vice chairman, and secretary-general of the branch of preventive medicine of traditional Chinese medicine were elected by the first vote of the second standing committee.
In the warm applause of the members and representatives, the conference read out the members of the leadership of the new branch of preventive medicine of traditional Chinese medicine and issued a certificate of appointment.

Miao Mingsan, the newly elected chairman and vice president of Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, delivered a speech. He said that the new committee was determined to continue to work hard and explore in the field of TCM prevention under the leadership of the General Assembly, so as to make TCM prevention a new force in the construction of a healthy China.

Comrade Wu Yingping, President of the Chinese National Health Association, delivered a speech, expressing heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected leadership and members of the Branch of Preventive Medicine of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and offering ardent hope and sincere encouragement to the new leadership.

In the morning of December 23, the conference held the "2023 National Academic Conference for Disease Prevention" as scheduled. President Wu Yingping delivered an opening speech. She pointed out that "Chinese medicine for the prevention of disease" is one of the important ideas of Chinese medicine. The National Academic Conference for the Prevention of Disease held this time has played an important role in promoting and demonstrating the unity of ideas, gathering resources, building confidence and standardizing models.

Gao Qiang, the former Minister of the Ministry of Health, made a wonderful keynote report. He explained the characteristics and essence of preventive medicine in simple terms, put forward the purpose and significance of establishing a preventive medicine system with Chinese characteristics with equal emphasis on traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine, and revealed that clinicians should not only pay attention to disease treatment, but also pay attention to science popularization, which plays a vital role in improving patients' health. Minister Gao's speech resonated widely with everyone and expressed the recognition and gratitude of the delegates.

Cheng Wenli, director of the Hypertension Center of Beijing Anzhen Hospital, made a report entitled "Experience in the Application of Chinese Medical Treatment for Special Diseases of Pre disease Department". She pointed out that cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases are still an important factor seriously threatening national health. Strengthening pre disease prevention and intervention, reducing morbidity, disability and mortality are very important areas of clinical medicine.

Wang Xin, director of the Branch of Preventive Medicine of Traditional Chinese Medicine of the Chinese National Health Association, brought the Evidence System of Three Combination Evaluation of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Transformation Path of Hospital Preparations, which explained the latest TCM evaluation and transformation path with short time, high efficiency and low cost.

Huang Xiaorong, Director of Beijing Haidian District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, used his rich clinical experience and solid theoretical foundation to show the Application of the Same Origin of Medicine and Food in Clinical Practice.

Professor Liu Xinqi, School of Food and Health, Beijing Technology and Business University, and Beijing Food Nutrition and Human Health High Precision Innovation Center, explained the "Research on the Prevention and Application of Protein in Senile Degenerative Muscle Reduction" with detailed data, which opened another window of knowledge about the same source of medicine and food for everyone.

Health management is a concept put forward by western experts. There are many health examination institutions in China. However, how to manage the health of many sub healthy people; Professor Long Bin, the former Third Medical Center of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, gave his thoughts and practice on how to integrate the prevention of disease with TCM into the health management system.

Zhang Songlun, President of Chengdu Medical Wanlian Internet Hospital, explained what lifestyle medicine is and proposed a new health intervention model of "medicine+coach+traditional Chinese medicine" in the report "Integrated Chinese and Western Lifestyle Medicine Helps Healthy China".

Sun Xiaoping, the president of Lingbao Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital, made the report "Talking about the Advantage of Appropriate Technology in Preventive Medicine from the Development of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Grass roots Hospitals" with practical data, so that we can see that appropriate technologies of traditional Chinese medicine give full play to the unique role of "simplicity, convenience, cheapness, efficiency, green and environmental", alleviate the suffering of the people, and at the same time bring about earth shaking changes to the hospital economy.

The limb injuries caused by diabetic foot ulcers are shocking. Director Wang Leiyong of Beijing Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital has achieved good results in treating diabetic feet by using traditional Chinese medicine guidance, which is worth learning and promoting in clinical practice.

Professor Lv Guiyuan of Zhejiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Professor Chen Suhong of Zhejiang University of Technology, and President Liu Guoxuan of Beijing Pengchengtang Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinic made wonderful reports respectively on the advantages and product research and development of traditional Chinese medicine health care with the same source of medicine and food, the scientific connotation and efficient development of resources of Dendrobium officinale's core efficacy of "nourishing yin and benefiting stomach", and the clinical application and acupoint allocation of Xiaochaihu Decoction.

Mr. Zhang Tianyou, Chief Scientist of the Life Health Technology Industry Development Center of the European Union China Urban Development Commission, explained to us the "Homologous Medicine and Food and Dietary Supplement Industry" with a rigorous academic attitude; Li Suyun, Deputy Director of the Department of Nutrition, Cancer Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, explained Disease Prevention and Modern Nutrition and Chinese Medicine's View of Disease Prevention. At the end of the conference, there was also technical training with Chinese characteristics.

Looking at the history of preventive medicine in Chinese and western medicine, it is not difficult to find that the "three prevention" ideas of "prevention before disease, prevention after disease" and "prevention after recovery" advocated by Chinese medicine fully conform to the concept of healthy China's action. They are the most economical and effective health strategy, and also the core of building a "prevention first" public health system. Thousands of years of practical experience of TCM in preventing disease has formed a comprehensive concept of health care from personal health status, diet, lifestyle, behavioral characteristics, seasonal climate and other aspects, as well as a wealth of health care practices in traditional Chinese medicine such as dietotherapy, ointment, acupuncture, massage, cupping, acupoint application, Wuqinxi, Baduanjin, Qigong, Taijiquan, etc, It also provides important clinical value for TCM to prevent disease.
The 2023 National Academic Conference for Disease Prevention and Treatment came to a successful conclusion. With the efforts of many colleagues, TCM has been on the road to prevent disease. History and the future tell us that only by making TCM's advantages of "preventing disease" come into force as soon as possible, and by making TCM's "three prevention" ideology take root, can the Chinese dream of comprehensive health and Chinese take-off be truly realized.
