After three days of continuous operation, on May 14, the unloading of 51000 tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplied by China National Petroleum International Corporation was successfully completed at the Hong Kong LNG Terminal. This is the first time in the history of Hong Kong to receive LNG resources, further improving the diversification and clean level of Hong Kong's energy supply. After unloading, the liquefied natural gas of this ship will be stored and regasified, and then used as power generation fuel, which will be transported to two large power plants under China Power Co., Ltd. and Hong Kong Electric Light Co., Ltd. through submarine pipelines to increase the proportion of clean power generation fuel. At present, Hong Kong mainly uses pipeline gas. With the concept of green and low-carbon development deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, the proportion of natural gas in Hong Kong's energy consumption has increased year by year, and the demand has risen accordingly. Hong Kong also puts forward higher requirements for the diversification of natural gas supply. The newly built Hong Kong LNG Terminal is the world's largest offshore LNG terminal, which is currently in trial operation and will greatly increase the supply proportion of clean energy in Hong Kong after its official operation. International business companies actively study and judge market demand to help Hong Kong build a more diversified and green supply pattern.
