[Windows] GeoGebra 6.0.793.0, a dynamic mathematics software, is free in Chinese and other languages

The Chinese version of GeoGebra is a dynamic mathematical software that combines "geometry", "algebra" and "calculus". It was designed by Markus Hohenwarter, a mathematics professor at Atlanta University, Florida, USA. On the one hand, GeoGebra Chinese is a dynamic geometry software. You can draw points, vectors, line segments, straight lines, polygons, conics, and even functions on them, and you can change their properties afterwards.

On the other hand, you can also enter equations and point coordinates directly. Therefore, GeoGebra also has the ability to deal with variables (these variables can be a number, angle, vector or point coordinates). It can also differentiate and integrate functions, find the roots of equations or calculate the minima of functions.

So GeoGebra has the function of processing algebra and geometry at the same time. Therefore, there is an "algebra area" on the left and a "geometry area" (also called "drawing area") on the right of the GeoGebra window, as shown in the following figure. GeoGebra Chinese Features:

You can use the drawing tools provided in the toolbar to use the mouse in the geometry area for geometric drawing. Select one of the drawing tools from the toolbar. You can learn how to use the selected tool by using the tool tips (at the back of the toolbar). Any object generated in the geometric area has an algebraic feature in the algebraic area. Note: You can drag the mouse to move the objects in the geometry area, and the algebraic features in the algebra area will also be updated dynamically at the same time. Each icon in the toolbar represents a tool box. The tool group contains drawing tools with similar functions. You can open the tool box by pressing the small arrow at the lower right corner of the icon with the left mouse button.

You can directly enter an algebraic expression in the Geodebr command area, and then press the Enter key. The algebraic expression entered will appear in the algebraic area, and the corresponding figure will appear in the geometric area. In the algebra area, mathematical objects are classified as free objects and derived objects. If an object is generated without using any existing object, it is classified as a free object. If the newly generated object is generated by using other existing objects, it is classified as a derived object.

Tip: If you want to hide the features in the algebraic area, you can designate the object as a helper object as follows: in the algebraic area, right-click the object, select "helper object" in the right-click menu, or select "attribute" in the pop-up menu, select the label "basic" in the attribute dialog box, and then check the check box before the "helper object" option. According to the default of the program, "helper" does not appear in the algebra area, but you can select "helper" in the "View" menu, and then you can see it in the algebra area.

You can modify objects in the algebraic area: first confirm that the move tool has been selected, then double-click the object in the algebraic area. You can directly edit the algebraic feature data of the object in the text box, and then press Enter to change the graphic characteristics of the object. If you double-click a derived object in the algebra area, you can "redefine" the object in the dialog box that appears. Geogebra also provides many commands. You can press the 'Command' button on the right side of the command area to open the command window table. After selecting a command in the menu (or directly entering a command in the command input box), press F1 to obtain the syntax structure of the command and the required parameters and other information.

In Geogebra's worksheet area, each cell has a specified name, which is used to specify the location of the cell. This is similar to the OFFICE worksheet. For example, the name of the cell in row 1 of column A is A1. Note: When a cell name is used in an expression or command, it represents the content data in the cell. This process is called cell data reference. In the worksheet, you can enter not only numerical values, but also all mathematical objects supported by Geogebra, such as point coordinates, functions, commands, etc. For the mathematical objects entered in the worksheet, Geogebra will immediately display their graphic features in the geometry area, and the names of the objects will correspond to the positions in the worksheet, such as A5, C3, etc. Note: By default, the objects in the worksheet are classified as helper objects in the algebra area.

GeoGebra system requirements

GeoGebra has relatively low hardware requirements. The following are the basic hardware requirements:

  • CPU: 1 GHz or faster processor.
  • Memory: At least 512 MB of memory.
  • Graphics card: supports OpenGL 1.4 and above graphics cards.
  • Storage space: At least 100 MB of free disk space.
  • Operating system: Windows 7 SP1, Mac OS X 10.9 or higher, Ubuntu 16.04 or higher, iOS 9.0 or higher, and Android 4.4 or higher.

It should be noted that a higher version of the operating system and stronger hardware will provide better performance and better user experience. If users want to use GeoGebra for more complex mathematical calculations and graphics rendering, it is recommended to use computers or mobile devices with higher configurations.
