3. Capacity: Select as required. Compared with servers, cloud disk service is not worth much, so it is important to buy a cloud disk with enough size and enough duration at one time. The bigger the cheaper, the longer the cheaper.

2. When initializing the hard disk, there are two systems: Windows system and Linux system.

A. Windows formats, creates file systems, and writes files

Log in to Windows ECS as an administrator.
Select Server Management>>Storage>>Disk Management to enter the disk management interface.
Right click the target empty disk and select Online.
When the disk status changes to uninitialized, it indicates online completion.
If you switch the disk partition type after the disk is put into use, the original data on the disk will be cleared. Therefore, please carefully select the disk partition type when initializing the disk.
Right click the target disk and select New Simple Volume.
Enter the size of the simple volume and click Next.
Select the file system, format the partition, and click Next.

Click Finish
The target disk appears to be formatting, waiting for the initialization operation to complete.
When the volume status is Good, it indicates that the disk was initialized successfully.
After successful initialization, the data disk of the new partition can be seen on the computer interface.

B. Linux format, create file system and write files

Log in to the Linux ECS as root. Use the SSH software to execute the following command to view the name of the disk connected to the instance.
fdisk -l

Execute the following command to format the disk.
mkfs.ext4 /dev/vdb
Execute the following command to mount the disk to the/data mount point.
mount /dev/vdb /data
