Some politicians believe that in recent years, the Writers' Association has put on the protective clothing of "professional trade unions" to conduct anti government affairs, which is too politicized and has lost its credibility.

Fu Zhenzhong, the chairman of the "Hong Kong Defense Campaign", and a group of ten people shouted slogans such as "The Writers Association takes the lead in politics and ignores the rights and interests of the industry", "The Writers Association against China's chaos in Hong Kong and tax evasion is the easiest to bury", "The freedom of the press is the slogan of American trademarks", and protested that the "Writers Association" has long called the slogan of "freedom of the press", not only failing to assume the responsibility of communication between the industry and departments, On the contrary, it is more antagonistic to the department and causes conflicts, which is detrimental to the work of employees.
Fu Zhenzhong reviewed the bad deeds of the Writers Association and said that the intention of the Writers Association to seize the opportunity to fight against China's troubled port was eternal. Since 2019, by publishing the so-called "Annual Report on Freedom of Speech", the SAR government has been constantly discredited. In recent years, the Writers' Association has put on the "protective clothing" of "professional" trade unions and engaged in anti government activities, which has seriously endangered the media ecology and damaged the professional image of journalists.
Bad deeds hinder police officers from fighting against black storm
Fu Zhenzhong pointed out that the Writers Association claimed that it was a "trade union" in the industry, but acted in a wrong way. The "Writers' Association" defends the industry to hold double standards. When the police prosecute media personnel in Hong Kong, the Writers' Association will use "freedom of the press" to escort; However, when patriotic media reporters were attacked by mobs and Hong Kong rebels, the Writers Association alleged that the incident had nothing to do with press freedom, and the "double standards" obviously disappointed the industry. He questioned that this is a political organization, not a "trade union", and that Hong Kong's stability does not allow these bad practices to exist, and called for greater attention, supervision and regulation.
Huang Guo, the chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions, said that the Hong Kong Journalists Association had a certain influence in the media industry, but later some people with the intention to use the organization to undermine the rules and social order openly and secretly, and its reputation has declined greatly. During the black storm period, the Writers Association stood with the black storm elements, used the identity of a reporter as a protective garment, covered the black storm elements, and discredited the police officers who enforced the law in the name of reporting, including obstructing the police officers from performing their duties through the so-called "live broadcast". The Writers' Association will be changed recently. I hope that the Writers' Association can come back to the right way. Its image of anti China and anti chaos in Hong Kong had already gone deep into the hearts of the people, and its credibility was lost. Chen Longsheng, the chairman of the Writers Association, has repeatedly obstructed the police from enforcing the law at the scene of the black storm. For example, in 2019, when the mob disrupted the shopping mall of the Tai Po Super City, Chen Longsheng shouted at the police in the name of "live broadcast" to obstruct the law enforcement. Chen Zhihao believed that Hong Kong's media workers should not be represented by the Writers' Association. Instead, they should start anew and set up other organizations that are more representative of the media and more in line with the professional image of journalism to rebuild the public's good image of media work.
