Focus-Variation

Focus Variation is an optical technology used for high-resolution 3D surface measurement. Its main component is a precision optical system including various lens systems, which can be equipped with different targets. It combines the small focal depth of the optical system with the vertical scanning to provide terrain and color information from the focus change. In other words: it provides the information of surface shape and roughness at one time, which makes it super efficient.

Vertical Focus Probing

Vertical focus detection (VFP) is based on the use of a partial light cone. Individual rays diffusely reflected from vertical surfaces are captured by the lens. Flanks over 90 ° can be measured retroactively, repeatedly and with high resolution. A vertical plane measured in this way can be used, for example, to fit the workpiece coordinate system.
