Software Introduction

LibreCAD is an open source and free 2D CAD drawing software, formerly known as CADuntu. It is built based on the community version of QCad and restructured using Qt4. It natively supports Mac OSX, Windows and Linux. It provides a read/modify/create CAD file (. dxf) scheme based on GPL protocol.

Installation method:

For Ubuntu 10.04 use:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:showard314/librecad
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install librecad

for Ubuntu 10.10 and Natty use:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:showard314/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install librecad

LibreCAD 2.0 release, 2D CAD drawing software

After almost two years of hard work, LibreCAD 2.0 was finally released. LibreCAD starts to support simplified Chinese fonts
