Introduction to Scenic Spots

The China Aviation Museum is the first large-scale aviation museum open to the outside world in China and the largest gathering place of aviation treasures in Asia. It is located at the foot of Datang Mountain in Changping, Beijing.

According to the aircraft age, aircraft type and aircraft size, the museum is divided into four thematic parts, namely, the museum standard area, the Heavenly Soul Stele, the cavern exhibition hall, and the outdoor exhibition hall, gathering more than 200 aircraft from around the world. It also collected and exhibited more than 700 samples of weapons and equipment, including surface to air missiles, air defense radars, anti-aircraft guns, aerial bombs and aerial cameras.

Some of the planes here are world treasures and some are national precious cultural relics. The most representative one is the US made C-47 transport plane (Meiling) that Chairman Mao Zedong took during the negotiation in Chongqing; Mr. Sun Yat sen presided over the production of Leshifang No. 1 and Soong Ching ling participated in the test flight performance; Feng Ru II, the second aircraft made by the Chinese; The landlines of Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Zhu De and other proletarian revolutionaries of the old generation; The war hawk piloted by Wang Hai and Zhang Jihui, heroes of the air force; A group of "meritorious" aircrafts who participated in the founding ceremony and the air battle to defend the country. In addition, the Type 99 advanced trainer, Boston, LA, Il-10, Yak-17, J-12, etc. are rare treasures in the world.

The Aviation Museum of China is the spiritual and cultural soul of the heroic spirit of the People's Air Force. There is a stone sculpture building group composed of the heroic wall, the blue sky soul and the oath square, which embodies the spirit of the air force, and it is solemn and grand; There is a heroic road connecting the glorious history of the air force and the victorious future. In the center stands 11 groups of bronze sculptures started by Feng Ruwei, the father of Chinese aviation, which are lifelike and awe inspiring; The main sword carving, 40 meters high, symbolizes that the Air Force upholds honor and wins the battle in the sky.

The China Aviation Museum is a historical book reflecting the development and expansion of the People's Air Force and the achievements of weapons and equipment construction. The comprehensive exhibition hall with the shape of flying wings and the exhibition hall of more than 10000 square meters show the development, changes and brilliant achievements of weapons and equipment development in the 64 years since the founding of the Air Force. The whole exhibition takes the development process as the main line, equipment as the axis, culture as the soul, precious cultural relic aircraft as the main body, and adopts advanced acousto-optic science and technology to focus on the story behind the equipment and the spiritual and cultural connotation contained in it since the establishment of the Air Force more than 60 years ago. The 6000 square meter cavern exhibition hall is unique, epitomizing the 100 year development history and impressive achievements of China's aviation industry, and tells a moving story of China's aviation industry's endless pursuit and unremitting struggle for more than 100 years.

The China Aviation Museum is a national patriotism education base, national defense education base and science popularization education base, a national AAAA tourist attraction, and a tourist attraction for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
