Introduction to Scenic Spots

Simatai Great Wall is located in Gubeikou Town in the northeast of Miyun County, Beijing, 120 kilometers away from Beijing. It is the only ancient architectural site in China that retains the original appearance of the Ming Dynasty.

The whole section of the Great Wall is ingenious in concept, unique in design, novel in structure and different in shape. It has both the common "wall type" and the "half wall type" built to adapt to the steep mountain; There are both horse paths that stretch with gentle slopes, and "sky ladders" that fold in large steps on steep slopes.

Simatai Reservoir divides the Great Wall into east and west sections. There are 16 enemy towers in the east section and 18 in the west section. The enemy towers are dense, varied in form and different in structure. The average distance between the towers is only 140 meters, which is extremely magnificent. On the peak of the eastern section of the Great Wall, there are two most prominent towers, namely the Fairy Tower and Wangjing Tower. In particular, Wangjing Tower is built on a steep peak with an altitude of 1000 meters. The view is excellent, and the city of Beijing can be seen from afar.

Simatai Great Wall was included in the World Heritage List in 1987 and is a national key cultural relics protection unit.

Simatai Great Wall was built in the early years of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty, and reinforced by Qi Jiguang, the chief soldier of Jizhen Town, and Tan Lun, the governor. The mountain is steep, the terrain is precipitous, and the project is numerous. Looking at the Great Wall of Simatai at the foot of the mountain, I can see that it leans against the blue sky, stretches across the east and west, and the wild clouds are long, extremely dangerous. The mountain is like a two-way ladder with people's fingers together. If you climb the Great Wall from the west, you can only see one peak from the side, as if you can climb it hard and take a commanding position. But once we got to the enemy tower at the first peak, we turned to the east and saw another peak approaching us. When you climb the enemy tower on the second hill, look up to the east, and there is a higher peak on it; And looking down, I saw that all the towers on the first mountain were covered. It was really "no ancients before, no comers after." Climbing up to the fourth tower, now it opens up, and the distant village emits warm smoke, looking calm and carefree. The green and yellow vegetation on the other side of the mountain rises one after another, and the flocks of sheep flock in several places, which adds a lot of poetic flavor and reminds people of the poem "cattle and sheep are seen when the grass blows low". Climb onto the sixth enemy tower, which is divided into two floors: the upper floor is a lookout tower; The lower layer is edge formed

The soldiers' houses have windows on three sides and archery holes on the north. The whole building is made of square stones, which looks solid, firm and dignified. Thanks to the special terrain of Yanshan Mountain, the important geographical location and the wisdom of Qi Jiguang and other ancient soldiers, this magnificent and unique Great Wall landscape was created.

Simatai Great Wall is divided into east and west sections by Yuanyang Lake. Yuanyang Lake is formed by the flowing hot springs at 37 ℃ all the year round and the icy cold springs, which makes the water in the lake warm and cold. Every winter, the lake is still blue and the fog is rising.

The highest part of the Great Wall is the "Fairy Tower", which needs to climb the "ladder". With a height of 100 meters and a gradient of 85 degrees, the ladder is almost vertical, which is hard to conquer without courage. Looking up, the steps made of bricks and stones can only accommodate feet. On the steep cliffs on both sides, the middle step is as thin as a line, as thin as a blade, and as steep as a stand. People cannot help but gasp at the ladder. Climbing up the Fairy Tower, the scenery is indeed more magnificent and beautiful. Looking down at the cliff at the foot, you can see that it is just like cutting with a knife and an axe. A few wisps of fog and mist hang on the cliff, making it even more precipitous and dangerous. The Jinshanling Great Wall in the northwest and the Simatai Great Wall are integrated, like a green dragon about to take off. Enemy towers of different sizes and shapes on the Great Wall are built on various commanding heights just right. They are awe inspiring, cold and tall. The whole section of the Great Wall is perfect, harmonious and magnificent, showing its ingenuity, strangeness, majesty and magnificence everywhere. Then look at the endless Yanshan Mountains surging up, folding countless wonders; Look at the vast North China Plain, which stretches to the horizon beyond your sight. In this vast and strange scenery, you can't help thinking.
