The first National Congress of the Communist Party of China was held in Shanghai from July 23 to 31, 1921. The first program and resolution of the Communist Party of China were adopted at the conference. The program stipulates that the name of the Party is "the Communist Party of China". Since then, July 1 of each year has been designated as the Party's birthday.
