After the fire department put out the fire with all its strength, the fire was put out. The fire caused partial roof collapse and damage of the building, without casualties. According to the scene aerial pictures, the roof of the auditorium has basically collapsed after the fire, and the burned buildings are scorched black.

The auditorium where the fire broke out, the full name of which is the auditorium of the former site of Henan University's Henan Preparatory School for Studying in Europe and America, was started on November 20, 1931 and completed on December 28, 1934. It covers an area of 3932 square meters, 73.75 meters long from north to south, 53.75 meters wide from east to west, with a total construction area of 4687 square meters. It is a palace building. In 2006, the former site of Henan Preparatory School for Studying in Europe and the United States was listed as the sixth batch of national key cultural relics protection units, of which the auditorium is a part.

Enquiry of Henan Provincial Public Resources Trading Center by Leju Finance and Economics shows that since May 2022, there have been three successful procurement announcements on the site of Henan University's Henan Preparatory School for Studying in Europe and the United States, with a total bid winning amount of 13.1 million yuan: 1. On May 23, 2022, Shengyun Technology Co., Ltd. won the bid for the fire prevention project, with a total amount of 5.196 million yuan; 2. On September 14, 2023, the winner of the security engineering project was changed to Zhengzhou Landun Electronics Co., Ltd., with an amount of 3.55 million yuan - on August 30, 2023, the winner was Zhongcheng Technology Co., Ltd., with an amount of 3.19 million yuan; On September 11, 2023, Beijing Tongxinggu Construction Engineering Co., Ltd. won the bid for the renovation project of the auditorium, with an amount of 4.356 million yuan and a construction period of 180 days;

The renovation project of the auditorium is the main body of the fire.

It was found that Beijing Tongxinggu Construction Engineering Co., Ltd. was established in February 1999 with a registered capital of 10.8 million yuan, and Xu Changlin, Guo Fengxiang and Tang Chongping held 33.34%, 33.33% and 33.33% respectively. On February 22, 2024 and April 17, 2024, it won the bid for the conservation and repair of cultural relics and buildings in the Jingfu Palace area of the Forbidden City Museum with 8.6565 million yuan, and for the emergency repair of the ceiling of the east and west wing building of the Meridian Gate of the Forbidden City with 560000 yuan.
