The anode of aluminum electrolytic capacitor is made of refined aluminum foil. The surface is chemically etched to form a large number of micropores to increase the effective surface area. By forming a thin layer of aluminum oxide film on the anode aluminum foil as the dielectric, using liquid or solid electrolyte as the cathode, and finally packaging into AD820ARZ-REEL7 capacitor.

Difference between tantalum capacitor and electrolytic capacitor

1. Dielectric material: tantalum dioxide is used as the dielectric for tantalum capacitors, while aluminum oxide or tantalum oxide is usually used for electrolytic capacitors.

2. Stability and reliability: because of its special physical and chemical properties, tantalum capacitors usually show higher stability and reliability within the operating temperature range.

3. Volume and capacity: due to the high dielectric constant of tantalum dioxide, the tantalum capacitor can usually provide a higher capacitance value under the same volume.

4. Price: Tantalum capacitors are usually more expensive than aluminum electrolytic capacitors with the same capacity, because tantalum is a rare metal with high cost.

5. Polarity: both tantalum capacitors and electrolytic capacitors have polarity, and incorrect polarity connection will lead to capacitor damage. However, tantalum capacitors are more sensitive to polarity, and the consequences of wrong connection are more serious.

6. Application field: Due to the high stability and reliability of tantalum capacitors, they are usually used in occasions with high requirements for environment or long-term reliability. Electrolytic capacitors are widely used in consumer electronics because of their high cost efficiency.
