Basic principles of power supply and knowledge of components

Date: September 11, 2023 (Source: Internet)

Power supply refers to equipment that converts other forms of energy (such as chemical energy, mechanical energy, etc.) into electrical energy. The basic principle of power supply can be explained from two aspects: energy conversion and circuit principle.

Energy conversion: the power source converts other forms of energy into electric energy through energy conversion. The most common power supply is MBRS540T3G Battery, which converts chemical energy into electrical energy through chemical reaction. Other common power sources include generators, which convert mechanical energy into electrical energy; Solar panel, which converts light energy into electricity, etc. Different types of power supply use different energy conversion principles, but the goal is to convert other forms of energy into electrical energy for circuit use.

Circuit principle: power supply plays the role of power supply in the circuit. The output voltage and current characteristics of the power supply determine the working conditions of the components in the circuit. The basic principle of power supply is to establish the potential difference in the closed circuit to drive the current flow. The output voltage of the power supply can be adjusted in different ways, such as adjusting the input voltage, changing the parameters of the internal components of the power supply, etc.

Component knowledge: common components in power supply include capacitor, inductance, diode, triode, voltage regulator, etc.

1. Capacitance: capacitance is a kind of component that can store charge. It is characterized by good response ability to changing voltage. Capacitors can be used to smooth the output waveform of the power supply and reduce the ripple of the power supply.

2. Inductance: Inductance is a component that can store magnetic energy. It is characterized by good responsiveness to changing current. Inductors can be used to stabilize the output current of the power supply and suppress the ripple of the power supply.

3. Diode: A diode is a component with unidirectional conductivity, which can limit the current in one direction. In the power supply, diodes are often used in the rectification circuit to convert alternating current into direct current.

4. Transistor: A transistor is a component with amplification function, which can amplify current or voltage signals. In power supply, triode is often used to amplify voltage or current, and provide it to components requiring higher voltage or current in the circuit.

5. Voltage regulator tube: voltage regulator tube is a component that can stabilize the input voltage at a specific value, and it can be used to provide a stable power output. The working principle of the voltage regulator is to adjust the input voltage to a stable output voltage through the internal circuit.

In addition to the above components, other components may be used in the power supply, such as transformers, resistors, electronic switches, etc. These components have different functions, but they are all to ensure the normal operation of the power supply and meet the needs of the circuit.

To sum up, the basic principle of power supply is to convert other forms of energy into electric energy through energy conversion, and establish potential difference in the circuit to drive current flow through circuit principle. The components in the power supply assume different functions, such as smooth output waveform of capacitor, stable output current of inductance, diode rectification, triode amplification, stable output voltage of voltage regulator, etc. The use of these components can be selected according to the specific power supply design and circuit requirements.
