Vishay Launches the Industry's Most Heat Resistant Thin Film Chip Resistor

Date: August 2, 2010 label: (Source: Internet)

Recently, Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. announced that it has added a new series of SMD roll on film patches to its passive device product portfolio for extremely high temperature environments resistance ---Sfernice PHT, these resistors are optimized for multi chip modules used in drilling exploration and aerospace applications.

The new Vishay Sfernice PHT high-precision roll on chip resistor has a working temperature range of - 55 ℃~+215 ℃, and a maximum storage temperature of+230 ℃. It is the first resistor in the industry that uses film technology to reach such a temperature. Even at such a high temperature level, these devices have a load life stability rate of 0.5% after 1000 hours at 215 ℃, and have strict TCR and tolerance values. The typical TCR of the new resistor is 25ppm/℃, with a tolerance as low as 0.05%.

The thickness of PHT resistance is 0.5mm, with four dimensions of 0603, 0805, 1206 and 2010. According to different series, the resistance range is 10 Ω - 7.6M Ω. The power levels of these resistors range from 12.5mW to 100mW.

The PHT device adopts a SMD roll package structure and a gold connector. For applications with special requirements for power dissipation, larger connectors are available.

Vishay's new PHT resistor can now provide samples and has achieved mass production. The supply cycle for bulk orders is eleven to twelve weeks.
