Xinhua News Agency, Tehran, June 8 According to the news released on the website of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the 8th, Iran has reopened its Consulate General in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and its representative office in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

The Iranian Embassy in Saudi Arabia reopened on the 6th of this month. Saudi Arabia and Iran broke off diplomatic relations in 2016. With the support of China, representatives of the two countries held a dialogue in Beijing from March 6 to 10 this year, and the three parties signed and issued a joint statement announcing that the two sides agreed to resume diplomatic relations. On April 6, the two countries signed a joint statement and announced the resumption of diplomatic relations from now on.
