Xi Jinping pointed out that the friendly exchanges between China and the GCC countries have gone back thousands of years and have a long history. In 2022, the first China Sea Summit was successfully held, creating a new situation of deepening cooperation between China and GCC countries. The deepening of industrial and investment cooperation between China and the GCC countries is conducive to strengthening the integration of the Belt and Road Initiative with the GCC countries' development strategies and vision plans, giving play to complementary advantages, jointly cultivating new drivers of development, and promoting the prosperity and development of both sides. China is willing to work with the GCC countries to promote unity, seek cooperation and write a new chapter in China sea relations.
The China GCC National Industry and Investment Cooperation Forum opened in Xiamen, Fujian Province on the same day, with the theme of "Facing the Future, Jointly Promoting the High Quality Development of Industry and Investment Cooperation between China and GCC Countries", co sponsored by the National Development and Reform Commission and the People's Government of Fujian Province.
