On May 19, it was reported that the largest offshore photovoltaic project in China, China Nuclear Tianwan 2 million kilowatt beach photovoltaic demonstration project, was officially started in Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province, according to the official micro blog of "China Nuclear Group".
The CNNC Tianwan 2000000KW beach photovoltaic demonstration project uses the thermal drainage area of the nuclear power plant to carry out "photovoltaic+nuclear power" multi energy complementation. The project is developed and constructed by CNNC Huineng Co., Ltd., which is controlled by China Nuclear Power Corporation, and can effectively reduce the impact on the marine ecosystem and provide more clean energy for surrounding cities.
It is expected that the project will be connected to the grid for the first time in September 2024, and will be connected to the grid with full capacity in 2025. The average annual on grid power will be 2.234 billion kWh within 25 years of operation, which can meet the annual production and living power demand of about 230000 people in moderately developed countries.
At the same time, the project saves about 680000 tons of standard coal annually and reduces 1.77 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions, which has a good demonstration effect on the intensive, scientific and ecological use of shallow beach resources to develop clean energy industry.
After the project is fully completed, it will be coupled with the Tianwan Nuclear Power Base held by China Nuclear Power Investment Group, a subsidiary of CNNC, to form a large clean energy base with a total installed capacity of more than 10 million kilowatts. For the transformation and upgrading of regional energy structure, the construction of a clean energy demonstration base for the integration of nuclear power and photovoltaic, and the scientific, efficient and ecological use of beach resources to develop clean energy industry, It has important demonstration significance.
