How to set password for folder sharing in Windows system

To set a password for folder sharing in Windows, you can follow the steps below:

  1. Open Explorer: You can open Explorer by clicking the folder icon on the taskbar or pressing Win+E.
  2. Navigate to the folder you want to share: In Explorer, find the location of the folder you want to share.
  3. Right click the shared folder and select Properties: In the pop-up menu, select Properties.
  4. In the "Sharing" tab, click the "Advanced Sharing" button: this will open the Advanced Sharing Settings window.
  5. In the advanced sharing settings window, check the "Only for users with network access rights" check box.
  6. Click the "Permission" button: this will open the sharing permission setting window.
  7. In the sharing permission setting window, click the "Add" button: then enter the name of the user to be granted permission.
  8. Select the appropriate permission level for the user: Under the Permission Level column, select one of Read, Change, or Full Control.
  9. Click OK to save the sharing permission settings.
  10. In the sharing permission setting window, click the "Advanced" button: this will open the advanced security setting window.
  11. In the Advanced Security Settings window, click the "Encrypt content to protect data" check box.
  12. Click "OK" to save the changes.
  13. In the sharing permission setting window, click OK to save the changes.

Now, when other users try to access the shared folder, they will need to provide a user name and password. Only users with the correct credentials can access the shared folder.

Please note that when performing the above steps, you need to have administrator rights or appropriate access rights to set the password of the shared folder.
