At first, Mercado Libre imitated the eBay auction model, but with the development, its model is more and more similar to Amazon. Now Mercado Libre has more influence on Latin American market than Amazon.

Gmarket is the largest comprehensive shopping website in South Korea, ranking first in terms of total sales of goods in the Korean online retail market, mainly selling books, MP3, cosmetics, computers, home appliances, clothes, etc. On May 7, 2010, ebay announced that it would set up a joint venture with Gmarket, a Korean e-commerce company, and ebay contributed 10 million dollars.
