1. First, the seller needs to register and click "Register" in the upper right corner of Etsy homepage. Enter your name, email and required password and click Register.
2. Click "sell on Etsy" in the upper left corner of the screen to create a store. After completing this operation, click "Open your Etsy shop".
3. Now to set your preferences, you need to select:
·Store language
·Country of store
·Store currency
·Interest in becoming an Etsy seller
These contents are very important so that Etsy can place the store in the correct target market. For example, Etsy's algorithm may give priority to displaying its search results to consumers in the country where the seller is located.
4. The seller needs to name the store, and the store name is often a part of the brand, which will affect the brand narrative and marketing efficiency of the seller in the future. Once the seller has selected a name, click "check availability".
5. Secondly, sellers need to add "inventory". The Etsy platform recommends that sellers add at least 10 items at the beginning, so that they can be more easily found by potential customers.
Then add photos.
6. Scroll down on the same page to fill in inventory and price:
·Price - By considering all costs, freight and competitor prices, the seller needs to make a reasonable price for the product.
·Quantity - It may be an orphan or some replica. Fill in this content so that Etsy can automatically update the listing until the product is completely sold out.
·SKU - only for internal use and tracking of the seller, not displayed on the buyer side.
·Variants - If the product has multiple colors, buyers can choose the version they want during the checkout process.
·Personalization - If the seller provides personalized products, such as engraving on the products, it needs to check this box.
7. Continue to scroll down to the transportation section
It is recommended to use this section to help the seller determine the transportation cost, incorporate these factors into the price, and then check the free transportation box. Consumers prefer to buy goods from sellers who provide free delivery.
Then click "Save and Continue".
The seller will go to the "how you'll get paid" and "set up billing" sections.
You need to provide Etsy with the following information:
·Bank location
·Location of funds
·Date of birth
·The last four digits of the social security number
·Home address
·Phone number
After executing the above steps, your Etsy account, store and first listing will be established.
